I use GIMP 2.0 as GIMP 2.4. will not install on my computer because it hates me. xD

Well, it DID, think it's been fixed now cos I complaine dabout it in the bugs forum. =D

I used to use Paint, but it doesn't resize images without distorting them, so I now use Gimp 2.4.4

- Photoshop 7 (best PS in my opinion, got really bloated with CS# versions)
- Fireworks 8 (easy for quick images, animations, etc.)

i used to edit with Photoshop CS2, but now i'm using GIMP.
not sure about the version, though.

it's a little surprising that there are more GIMP users than Photoshop users. i always thought that Photoshop is the more popular choice.

For 2D raster images I've been using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended although I might use Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended Stonehenge BETA soon if there really is any differences between them.
 
For Vector illustrations I use Adobe Illustrator CS3(also good to create 3D objects and wireframes).
 
And just for abstract 3D graphics I use MAXON CINEMA 4D Release 10.

I use GIMP but only for the most basic of things because I suck at image editting and don't understand how to work it.
